Dear sir or madam

I am interested in a position to work with Drug and Alcohol dependents.

I hold the Introduction to Counseling Certificate and have personal experience of over 10 years with drugs and alcohol and would welcome the opportunity to help others attempting to get ‘clean’ or staying ‘clean’.

I have been abstinent of drugs and alcohol since September 2011. I feel the personal experience gives me a better understanding of the clients needs, frustrations and desires. I would be willing to be on-call and prepared to look after those going Cold-Turkey as I went through 2 weeks alone  - not pleasant experience and I would not wish it on anyone. 

I am looking for a full-time regular paid position. I am willing to work most days, evenings or nights except Friday/Saturday due to religious reasons.

However a voluntary placement would help further my education, awareness and skills.

I am capable of using a computer and willing to adapt to any environment.

I am enthusiastic, excellent people skills, excellent communication skills, strong planning and organization skills, ability to work to deadlines and under pressure, commitment to customer service, confident and responsible. I have good decision making skills and have the ability to understand and analyze figures.

I am keen to advance my knowledge and would be happy to attend any training course proposed.

I feel I could offer dedication, reliability, punctuality, good communication and rapid response and personal experience of the ‘world’ the clients are living in.

I should like this opportunity to inform you that among my other characteristics I am a cheerful and outgoing person with a healthy appetite for life, I am enthusiastic and loyal.

I read a fair bit and enjoy learning about various subjects.

I do have access to private vehicle my bicycle. 

I am currently looking for work with the South East of England with a view to transfer and enable a well-deserved ‘Fresh Start’.

I have only two dependents of the Jack Russell Terrier type.

I am willing to accept almost any role.

I am looking to start from 1 October 2013.

I intend to pass my driving test soon.
